The notch on iPhones: The notch is anticipated to be retained for the iPhone 13 series, but a recent patent shows. Apple is exploring methods to eliminate the front-facing camera technology for future devices. A new patent discovered by Patently Apple depicts a moving display that can conceal the Face ID parts, front-facing camera, and other components while not in use.

The invention is referred to as “adjustable display windows” in this patent application, which was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. This is because, according to the patent, there are two ways to achieve this result. Dissatisfied with the battery life of your iPhone?

The first is a flap made of a flexible display that rotates on a hinge to reveal the location of the camera. This would be displayed only when utilizing functions that need the front-facing camera technology.

The second concept in the patent is a movable display that slides down to reveal the camera components. These would most likely appear towards the top of the screen (similar to where the notch is on the iPhone 12 series).

If this patent is granted, all of this would take place behind the glass of the display.
As always, patents do not guarantee that this technology will appear on a future iPhone. In reality, a lot of patented technology never sees the light of day. So although Apple is definitely experimenting with this. Don’t take it as evidence that it will be on the iPhone 14.

With the notch on iPhones, what is Apple planning to do?

All four iPhone models are expected to include a notch. Some reports claim that it will be 30 percent smaller. Because the notch is smaller, your iPhone’s display will have more space, but it still occupies a significant portion of the screen. iPhone 13 release date, price, specs, and leaks!!!

Soon, it doesn’t appear that we’ll be seeing this new patent. There have been some prior reports suggesting that the camera on the 2022 iPhone series would have a punch-hole design rather than a camera lens.
Other rumors have claimed that Apple is interested in under-display selfie camera technology. That is a rarity in the smartphone industry right now. You can only get it on ZTE devices like the Axon 20 – and the results haven’t pleased us so far.
Apple is certainly considering several alternatives for how to deal with the notch in the next years, and all these might be valid choices. MacBook Air M1, 2020 Review, Everything You Need to Know

We’d expect Apple to choose the most frictionless technology, and by the time an iPhone arrives in 2022, 2023, or later. The firm may be ready to embrace under-display camera technology.
